Cross Training

If you’re looking forward to the freshnlo Great Scottish Run then why not try some alternative training methods to help improve your fitness levels?

Since running tends to neglect some muscle groups while strengthening others, certain cross-training routines can correct muscle imbalances that might otherwise result in injury. While running exercises the muscles in the back of your legs, for example, cycling does the exact opposite, and can keep your legs from getting out of balance and promotes total fitness.

Cross training also plays an important psychological role in your training as variety is important to stop boredom setting in.

Some of the best forms of cross training are listed below and the good news is that Culture and Sport Glasgow can help out with whatever one you are interested in.
