On the Day
Running Number
This is a number unique to you, so let’s hope it’s a lucky one! Double check that the number enclosed matches the one on your letter. If they are different, you must call the hotline right away on 0845 270 0166.
Your number will need to be pinned to your T-shirt for the race and it is up to you to ensure that it stays on until you finish!
ChampionChip
This little guy will time your run. It is activated the minute you cross the start line so it’s really important to make sure it is strapped on correctly. Follow the instructions below closely – otherwise your time may not be recorded.
After the race, remember to place both the ChampionChip and the strap in the clearly
marked containers!
Before you run
As mentioned, the ChampionChip is really important and will track where you come in the
race so make sure it is attached correctly by following these important points:
- Thread the Velcro strap through the side ‘wings’ of the ChampionChip.
- The strap should be attached around your ankle only, so that the long central barrel of the ChampionChip faces the ground.
- It is best to wear the ChampionChip over your sock. Also make sure it is not too tight as your ankles may swell when running.
Race information desk
If you require last minute information or assistance – this is the place to go! The Information Desk will be located directly across from the muster area on Glasgow Green. Please note: No new entries will be accepted on the day so if little brother or sister fancy their chances, there’s always next year!
Can’t make it on day?
If you can’t make it on race day or if you don’t complete the race you will still need to return your ChampionChip and Velcro strap. Simply return them in the FREEPOST envelope provided by Friday 5th September 2008. Otherwise, there will be a £10 replacement cost. This should be made payable to Great Scottish Run and sent to the same FREEPOST address below:
