Teams
Looking for a team challenge that doesn't involve a zip slide across a wild river or jumping out of a plane at 10,000ft?
Keep your feet on the ground and your eyes on the prize in the Bank of Scotland Great Scottish Run team challenges!
The beauty of the Bank of Scotland Great Scottish Run is that it is the event for everyone - all ages and levels of fitness can do one of our races with a bit of training. Plus this is the kind of physical challenge that you and your colleagues, friends and family can benefit from long after the finish tape has been broken.
In 2012 there will be three team challenges:
Corporate and Community Team Challenge – open to companies, charities and community groups. Wouldn't this make your working day a little more interesting?
Family Team Challenge – open to family teams. Why not involve your nearest and dearest and run as a family.
Scottish Athletics Team Challenge – open to Scottish Athletics members in teams
This year the Bank of Scotland Great Scottish Run will reward the top team in each Challenge group with the Bank of Scotland Great Scottish Run Challenge trophies in both the 10K and half-marathon races. Now wouldn’t one of those look nice on the reception desk or club house bar?
Who and how many?
Teams must consist of a minimum of 4 entrants in one race distance but there is no maximum number of entrants. Winners will be calculated on the basis of the finishing positions of your top 4 runners.
Where do we sign up?
Team entries will open shortly. Once individual entries are open, all you need to do is telephone 0845 270 0166 and register your team name. You will be given a unique 4-digit code for your team which ALL of your team members must quote when entering online or by post. Remember all team members must to complete their own individual entry as normal but include the team name and team code.
And it is as simple as that! When you complete your own online entry you will be asked to complete the information above which will help us to ensure the finishing times of you and your team-mates are calcuated correctly to crown the overall winners in each category.
Why not look at our Charities section and pick a good cause to run for in 2012 - click here for more information.
Running clubs entering the Scottish Athletics Team challenge MUST ensure all of their entrants include their club name on their entry form.
See you on the starting line!
