Here are the answers to a series of commonly asked questions regarding your entry and about the day of the event.
When is the race and where does it take place?
The 2012 Bank of Scotland Great Scottish Run Half marathon and 10K races will both take place on Sunday 2 September 2012. Both races will start from George Square in Glasgow city-centre. Start times are to be confirmed.

How much does it cost to enter?
Below is a table of online entry fees for the 2012 Bank of Scotland Great Scottish Run.

What is the closing date for entries?
Closing date for entries to the 2012 Bank of Scotland Great Scottish Run for guaranteed race pack dispatch is 17 August 2012. Entries will continue to be taken until 28 August 2012 however all entrants entering after 17 August will be required to collect their race pack from the race office.
What do I get for my fee?
All entrants will receive a souvenir t-shirt. This will be posted to you approximately 10 days prior to the race in your race pack. If you have selected the early-bird technical t-shirt option, your standard souvenir t-shirt will be replaced by a limited editional technical t-shirt.
All race finishers will also receive a commemorative medal and a race certificate with their race time and finish position on it.
Time and finish position will be recorded by a timing chip inside your race number. It should be secured to your t-shirt or vest as directed in your race information pack as you will need to cross both the start and the finish line in order for your time to be recorded by it.
Without your Bib Tag race number your time will not be recorded meaning you will not receive your race certificate so make sure you don’t forget it!
Race certificates will be mailed out within 6 weeks of the event.
Is there any age limit on entry?
The minimum age for the 10k is 15 years or over on the day of the race and the minimum age for the half marathon is 17 years or over on the day of the race.
How can I enter?
Entries for the 2012 Bank of Scotland Great Scottish Run will open shortly. You can pre-register for the event on our homepage.
After I enter - what then?
We will acknowledge receipt of your entry within 10 days of online submission or postal delivery.
Can I enter as part of a team?
Team entries will open in 2012. View this page for information on entering as a team.
Is there a limit on entry?
At present there is no limit on entry however prospective entrants are advised to enter as soon as possible.
I'm coming from abroad - how do I get my race pack?
Please ensure your full postal address and contact details are included in your entry submission. For entrants living within the European Union, the address you provide will be used to post your race pack to you. Entrants from outside the European Union must collect their race pack from the race office on the Thursday or Friday prior to the race.
