Spring 10k Training

These courses will help prepare you to take part in the UK's biggest women only run in May - the Ignis Asset Management Women's 10k, the Men's Health Forum 10k in June or another 10k of your choice.

All participants receive free entry to the Running Network's 5k Fun Run in March.

Beginners

  • 12 week courses meeting twice a week.

  • For complete beginners or those returning after a period of inactivity.

  • These courses begin with alternating approximately 2 minutes jogging/2 minutes walking and will increase in running time and distance over the 12 week period up to the 10k distance.

  • If you have previously participated in one of our beginners' courses and have maintained a basic fitness level we would recommend our refreshers courses.

Refreshers

  • 8 week courses meeting twice a week.

  • You should be able to run for approximately 15-20 minutes wihtout stopping to participate in these courses.  They are therefore not suitable for complete beginners.

  • These courses are ideal if you have previously participated in one of our 10k beginners courses and want to increase your mileage back up to the 10k distance.

If you can already run 3 miles without stopping you can join any of our regular network sessions.
