How to get to the race
We strongly advise being in your starting position by 9.20am. Please plan your journey, as many roads will be closed or coned as part of the event traffic management plan. More information on road closures will be available on this site closer to the date of the race.
SUBWAY
The Subway will open at 8am on Sunday 18th May. Use the free Subway voucher enclosed in your race pack to exchange for a maximum of 4 return journey tickets from any Subway station ticket office. Then take the Subway to Shields Road or Buchanan Street and use the free shuttle bus service to the start line. For Subway locations please visit www.spt.co.uk
SHUTTLE BUS SERVICE – CITY CENTRE AND SHIELDS ROAD
A free shuttle bus service will start at 7.30am from Cochrane Street, off George Square (Glasgow City Centre) and Shields Road Subway station. This service will drop all runners, family and friends at the start line, with the last departure from both destinations at 9.30am. No vouchers are required to use the free shuttle bus service. If you would prefer to walk from Shields Road, it will take you approximately 25 minutes to walk the 1.5km to the start line.
CAR PARKING – SUBWAY MULTI STOREY
We strongly advise use of public transport and the official event transport. However, should you prefer to bring your own car, please use any of the following subway car parks free of charge; Shields Road, Kelvinbridge, Bridge Street.
Your race pack includes a car parking voucher, which permits one vehicle to park free of charge when presented to staff on exit at the pay office. N.B. Car parking spaces will be issued on a first come, first served basis until all spaces are full.
YOUR RETURN JOURNEY
SHUTTLE BUS SERVICE – CITY CENTRE AND SHIELDS ROAD
The free shuttle bus service will resume at 11am, from Dumbreck Road to Cochrane Street and Shields Road Subway. Buses will aim to complete the return journey in approximately 30 minutes for George Square and 20 minutes for Shields Road, road congestion permitting. The last bus will depart at 1pm.
