Predicted race time

Your predicted race time is very important to make sure you start the event beside entrants of a similar ability. If you are a first-timer it is sometimes hard to predict your time so here are some examples to help you. Remember it is better to over-estimate how long it will take you than under-estimate.

10k

2012 race winner, Luke Traynor - 31 minutes! Blink and you missed him!
Miss Scotland, Jennifer Reoch - 54 minutes (under an hour is a very good time if you have trained properly and will run the full course. Well done Jen!)
Jogging the course only – about 1 hour and 25 minutes
Walking the whole course with good training – about 1 hour and 55 minutes.

Half marathon

The 2012 winner, Joseph Birech – 1 hour and 1 minute!
Top Scottish & UK club runners (people who run several times a week and cover loads of miles in training) – between 1 hour 10 minutes and 1 hour 25 minutes.
In Demand Scotland DJ Romeo – 1 hour and 55 minutes (any time under 2 hours is very good but will require several weeks of suitable training)
Jogging the course only – at least 2 hours and 30 minutes
Walking at a very brisk pace after good training – over 3 hours and 30 minutes.
